Ready and Charged
Mercedes-Benz Trucks is ready and charged! That was the message the International Truck of the Year jury received loud and clear on a recent trip to Wörth, Germany.
At the exclusive event, which included a Q&A session with Karin Rådström, member of the board of management of Daimler Trucks and head of Mercedes-Benz Trucks, the jury took to the public roads in a fleet of Mercedes-Benz eActros 300 19-tonners.
These zero-tailpipe-emission trucks are each equipped with three 112 kWh lithium-ion batteries, and have a continuous output of 330kW. They feature Mercedes-Benz electric axles with twin motors, 2-speed transmissions, and have a maximum range of up to 300km. This was also the first chance for the jury to experience the second generation of MirrorCam. Mercedes-Benz’s digital mirror system has recently been upgraded, with improvements including shorter camera arms and enhanced screen clarity.
Additionally, the jury clocked up some kilometres in the new Actros L, powered by the new thrid generation OM471 12.8-litre 6-cylinder engine.
